Scientific overview of Rise & Shine Ritual
Rise & Shine Ritual combines aronia, sea buckthorn, celery root, apple, turmeric, ginger and lemon. The ingredients provide polyphenols, anthocyanins, carotenoids and other plant bioactive compounds that have been investigated in nutrition and functional-food research.
Aronia
Aronia is a concentrated source of polyphenols and anthocyanins. Research has examined aronia in relation to oxidative stress, vascular function, blood-pressure and lipid markers, as well as interactions with the gut microbiota [1–3].
Sea buckthorn
Sea buckthorn contains vitamins, carotenoids and fatty acids. Studies have investigated its bioactive compounds in relation to skin, immune and inflammatory processes and lipid and glucose metabolism [4–6].
Celery root
Celery contains flavonoids and other plant compounds, including luteolin. Research has explored antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity and possible effects on digestive and liver-related markers [7–9].
Apple
Apples provide polyphenols and pectin. Reviews and observational research associate apple components with cardiovascular and metabolic markers and with the gut microbiota [10–12].
Turmeric and ginger
Curcumin in turmeric and gingerols in ginger have been widely studied for antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activity and for their relationship with digestion and metabolic health [13–15].
Summary
